When talking about safety, there are multiple aspects to take into consideration when in Asia.
Health: Make sure you have the necessary vaccines against diseases common in the region, for example dengue fever or malaria. It is also highly recommended to drink bottled water instead of tap water to reduce the risk of waterborne illnesses and bacterias you’re not used to.
Traffic safety: Traffic in Asia can be chaotic and road conditions vary. Therefore it is important to be cautious both as a driver and pedestrian.

Southeast Asia is a popular destination to visit for many travelers and that region is home to some of the most vibrant cities but also laid-back beach towns and the most stunning nature. Southeast Asians are in general known for their friendliness towards travelers, often going out of their way to help visitors.

When is the best time to visit Southeast Asia?
The best time to visit Southeast Asia varies depending on the specific region you plan to explore. Many prefer to visit Southeast Asia during the dry season, but the dry season is different depending on where you go. The more northern countries in Southeast Asia, like Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos, experience their dry season from November to April, with lower humidity and less rain. This is the opposite of the more southern regions like Indonesia and Malaysia where the dry season instead runs from May to September.
To note is that a country’s dry season often is the peak season, meaning there are more tourists and travelers in the area. During the rainy season you should expect some heavy showers, but it rarely rains all day. During this period of time there are way fewer tourists and the countries are more green and lush, but compared to for example Central America where it usually never rains for days straight, Southeast Asia can experience heavy monsoons.
