An Evening in Cala Figuera – The Picturesque Fishing Village in Mallorca

Spending an evening in Cala Figuera was one of the cosiest things I did when visiting Mallorca. Located on the southeast coast of this Balearic island, you will find this small fishing village. Compared to some of its neighbor towns like Cala D’or or Cala Santanyí, Cala Figuera is not as crowded and a place in Mallorca that really has kept its authentic charm. Visitors are welcomed with a tranquil atmosphere and scenic beauty, with typical Spanish, white houses and a fjord-like cove with crystal clear water and docked boats. At sunset, Cala Figuera is the most beautiful. I will therefore guide you through how to spend an evening in this adorable village, a must if visiting Mallorca.

Stroll through the old port

Cala Figuera is a small town and beautiful through and through, but one of the most beautiful spots is definitely the old port. Walking along the water in this cute bay was an amazing evening activity. Your camera roll will be filled with a lot of amazing pictures after, trust me on that!

Walk to Caló d’en Boira

The bay in Cala Figuera, called Caló d’en Busques, is made up of two coves. One of them is the old port, mentioned above. The second one is Caló d’en Boira. If walking around the port, you will eventually reach Caló d’en Boira. This is where a lot of boats let anchor for the evening. There are some cliffs here as well, perfect if you are up for a swim and want to jump into the water.

Grab a drink at sunset

Bon Bar is a nice place close to the port for drinks or ice cream. Either have a drink while the sun is setting, before you head to dinner, or have dinner and wrap your evening up with ice cream.

Best places for dinner in Cala Figuera

An evening in Cala Figuera is not complete without having dinner, of course. Restaurant Es Port is one of the best places to eat in Cala Figuera, with a view of the harbour and great food. No reservation is needed but it could be a bit of a queue at rush hour. We went at rush hour and were told there was a waiting time and we were just about to order an Aperol Spritz to sip at while waiting, when we got a table. I think we waited no more than 5 to 10 minutes. Another dinner option is Restaurante Pura Vida that has a beautiful ocean view.

How to get to Cala Figuera

Cala Figuera is located on the southeastern side of Mallorca. If you are staying in Palma de Mallorca, it requires a 50 minute car ride to get here. My suggestion is to stay in the nearby town Cala Santanyí (this is what I did), because from here it is walking distance. It takes about 25 to 30 minutes to walk in between these two towns. Then you can easily spend an evening in Cala Figuera, have a glass of wine, and then walk back. You can also take the car if you have one, but don’t drink and drive!
